CLINICAL PILATES

Clinical Pilates is a movement re-education technique through the integration of the body and mind. According to its founder Joseph Pilates, healthy movements should be initiated from a central "core" of stability and performed based on fundamental principles such as breathing, concentration, control, alignment, centralization, fluidity, coordination, balance and integration. Clinical Pilates exercises promote core stability, correct muscle imbalances and joint misalignments and develop flexibility, endurance and body and postural awareness. It is the physiotherapist's responsibility to select and adapt the Pilates exercises individually, according to the therapeutic goal.
By incorporating Pilates principles into the postures and movements of daily life, we soon notice a positive change in our body in all activities – not only during the practice of exercises.
